About These Kora Strings
Finding reliable kora strings can be surprisingly difficult, especially outside West Africa. I have been using these nylon strings on my own instruments for many years.

Each set contains the gauges needed for either a 21-string or 22-string kora. The strings are supplied as full-length pieces rather than pre-cut lengths, allowing them to be trimmed to fit your particular instrument.
All strings within each set come from the same manufacturer, helping to ensure consistency in feel, tone and quality across the instrument.
Full sets contain all the strings needed to completely restring a kora. Half sets are also available, as the higher strings tend to wear out and break more frequently than the lower strings. For many players, this is a practical and economical way to replace the strings that need changing most often.
If opting for 22 strings, the extra one is for the note below the first C on the left. This string is a B-flat in Silaba tuning and is normally placed at the front of the bridge on the right (in the notch).
